White ready to return to winner's circle in Brainerd.

BRAINERD, Minn. - Vince Lombardi said that the person who said winning isn't everything never won anything. It could be said that is the sentiments of the Etterman Racing team and their driver Marc White. Despite coming off of a runner-up finish last weekend in Cleves, Ohio, the team is ready to go back into the winner's circle during this weekend's Rugged Liner Nationals at The Colonel's Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minn.

White, from Glendale Heights, Ill., qualified No. 1 for this event last year, but had a mechanical failure sideline him in round one. After racing in less than ideal conditions at their past few events, White is excited to be back racing under national event conditions. White won his last national event, the Pontiac Excitement Nationals.

"It's really tough to run at the marginal racetracks with our combination," said White. "We killed two motors at Edgewater because it just wants to spin the tires the whole track at those kinds of tracks. The NHRA crew always does a great job of prepping the track at national events, so we are really looking forward to racing on a track that can hold some HP."

The event is also the home event of sorts for team owners George and Jane Etterman who are from Newaygo, Mich.

"We're going to try real hard to put on a good show this weekend," stated White. "Since George and Jane live up here and keep the car up here, we have a lot of friends and fans. As always, we're just going to go out there and run it as hard as we can."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars with two sessions. Qualifying will resume Saturday morning followed by first round of eliminations that afternoon. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
