Jason Line looks for winner's circle at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. (April 21, 2006) -- Jason Line, driver of the KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pro Stock Pontiac GTO, would like to use the upcoming NHRA O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals (April 28-30) as a spring board to his first winner's circle of 2006.

With 15 final round appearances and eight wins over the last two seasons, Line would like nothing more than to add his ninth win at the Bristol Dragway quarter-mile. Line was runner-up to three-time Pro Stock champion Greg Anderson at this event in 2004. Line knows what it will take to reach the final round.

"It will take a perfect effort, plus some luck during all four rounds on Sunday, for us to reach the final round," said Line. "We must improve our performance and have been testing to insure that we have a better car at Bristol than we've had at the first five races. The driver also has to be on top of his game and driver better than he has so far this season. We've run good during qualifying but have not performed during eliminations like we know that we are capable of performing. We plan to use Bristol as a steppingstone to turnaround our season."

Although Line is not performing at the level that he himself is used to achieving, the Wright, Minn.-native, who now calls Terrell, N.C. home, is fourth in the NHRA POWERade point standings, just 72 points behind the leader, his teammate Greg Anderson, after five of 23 scheduled events.

Qualifying for Line and his KB Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac GTO begins with two sessions on Friday, April 28, scheduled for 5 and 7:30 p.m. and concludes with two additional sessions on Saturday, April 29, at 12:30 and 3 p.m. Line begins his quest for the O'Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals Pro Stock title on Sunday, April 30, with eliminations for all classes beginning at 11 a.m. *All times are local Bristol time (ET) and subject to change at anytime. *
