Bruce Litton Gainesville Friday Report

GAINESVILLE, FL. - Sometimes when it's not your day, it's not your day. In his first two qualifying attempts, Bruce Litton has yet to attain a full run down the drag strip under power at the NHRA Mac Tool Gatornationals in Gainsvile, Fla. The Wix Filters presented by the Top Dragster Driving Experience Top Fuel Dragster narrowly holds onto a spot in the 16-car field.

Litton expressed a measure of disappointment, but feels that everything will fall into place during Saturday's qualifying.

"It's the nature of a drag racer to want to hammer out the great times and secure a good spot early in each event," confided Litton, who qualified ninth at the last NHRA/Winston event in Phoenix. "We'll regroup after this frustrating day and come back ready to gun for the top spot tomorrow."

Litton could only manage a best 7.865/92, which was a tire-smoking effort. Previously, he lit the tires and slowed with a 10.038.

He has two more shots in qualifying on Saturday.

The Top Dragster Driving Experience has retained Litton's team to carry out their marketing program with WIX Filters. Top Dragster Driving Experience President Joel Collins feels the triangle marketing partnership between WIX Filters, his company and Litton's team provides a future example for other teams aspiring to run Top Fuel.
