Collins Racing Gets Wise For PR Duties

Wise Joins Toby Marketing Drag Racing Effort

NEW YORK (Dec. 8) -- Allyson Wise of Daytona Beach, Fla., has joined Toby Marketing Inc. as a public relations representative for the Collins Racing Pro Stock team, which competes in the National Hot Rod Association. Wise's duties will include media relations, hospitality events and all other sponsor and team-related public relations and promotional functions.

Wise comes to TMI from the NASCAR ranks with a well-rounded knowledge of motorsports and sports marketing. Her background spans the better part of 15 years and includes handling public relations and marketing duties for several NASCAR Grand National and Truck teams along with two oval short tracks on the East Coast. Wise has also served as a motorsports consultant for several sponsors as well as a member of the MRN Radio Broadcasting team. Her most recent function included handling logistics for hospitality suites, conferences, banquets and other special events directly for NASCAR.

TMI is a full-service sports marketing agency specializing in handling total motorsports management for various Fortune 500 companies. Along with the Collins Racing team, TMI represents Team Pennzoil's NHRA sponsorship, providing on-site media and public relations for all of the Pennzoil-sponsored drivers. Collins Racing is a two-car team based out Richmond, Va. Ostrich farmer and businessman Shawn Collins and his wife Mary own the team. Collins drives one of the cars himself and the other machine is piloted by Richie "The Kid" Stevens, who resides in New Orleans. The team will be entering their second NHRA season in 1999 and will be riding high after Stevens ended his rookie season with a season-ending win at the Winston Finals in Pomona, Calif.
