COMMERCE, Ga., May 6, 2006 -- New crew chief Tommy Utt kept making changes to Dave Connolly's SKULL GEAR Pro Stock Chevy Cobalt Friday and Saturday and Connolly picked off the 14th qualifying berth for Sunday's Summit Racing Equipment Nationals on a hot, slippery Atlanta Dragway racing surface..

Utt took over this week following a crew shuffle by Knoll Gas team owner Evan Knoll.

"We've been making changes and we'll keep playing with the tune-up and chassis settings," said Utt after the car ran 6.748 seconds at 204.45 mph. "The car is running a little better. We still have a problem in low gear to work on."

"The track was bad Saturday," Connolly said.  "We're still a little ways
behind, but Tommy has things he wants to do.  A new crew chief always
wants to make changes.  We are looking forward to Sunday."

Connolly squares off against Jason Line (third, 6.724 at 204.94 mph).
