Connolly Begins Quest for Fourth Win in Row

DALLAS, Sept. 22, 2007 -- Dave Connolly will be attempting to stretch his Pro Stock Countdown to Four advantage over Greg Anderson and earn his fourth consecutive victory Sunday in the O'Reilly Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex.

Connolly begins eliminations from the No. 2 berth, nine-thousandths of a second behind Anderson. Connolly drove Evan Knoll's black and yellow Torco Racing Fuels Chevy Cobalt to its best numbers -- 6.677-seconds at 206.73-mph -- Saturday morning.

Crew chief Tommy Utt had the car producing consistently competitive times on the hot racing surface. Connolly's other times were 6.730, 6.686 and 6.692 seconds. The latter was second-quickest in the hottest session Saturday.

"We made some pretty good runs," Connolly said. "Our second run Saturday was second-quickest of the session. I feel like we can do well if we stay on our game and race smart. We'll see what happens."

Connolly's first round opponent will be Craig Hankinson -- for the second consecutive race. Hankinson was 15th, 6.721 at 205.29 mph.
