Top Fueler Dave Grubnic looks to solidify 2006 NHRA season with wins beginning in Dallas

ENNIS, Tex., (Sept. 19, 2006) -- StriVectin-SD Top Fuel dragster driver and native Australian Dave Grubnic is hoping that this weekend's, Sept. 22-24, annual trek to the heart of the Lone Star state for the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Tex., just south of downtown Dallas, will be a victorious catalyst that ignites a winning streak that continues throughout the handful of races left on the 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule.

"Including Dallas, we only have five events left now," Grubnic, whose pink and black, 8,000-horsepower dragster reaches speeds over 330 mph, said. "We've had a good year, but if we could pick up a couple of wins down the stretch here, it would be great. My StriVectin-SD team is working really hard to try to do that. We've been testing every chance we get, and I'm certain that their efforts will pay off as the season winds down.

"Texas Motorplex is a top-notch place to race. If the weather conditions are good, you can make some great laps. We're really looking forward to this weekend to see what's out there and to see if we can put up some really good numbers for the fans."

Grubnic was runner-up for the Top Fuel title at Texas Motorplex, which is the only all-concrete race track that hosts an NHRA national event, in 2004.
