This Week in Ford Racing
September 22, 2010

John Force, driver/owner of the Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang Funny Car heads into Dallas as the points leader with only four races left in the NHRA's Countdown to 1. Force talks about what a win a Dallas would mean to him.

JOHN FORCE - Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang Funny Car - CAN YOU TALK ABOUT TAKING THE POINTS LEAD INTO DALLAS THIS WEEKEND? "I don't count it as a points lead. If your car won't go down the race track every run, you aren't going to win a championship."

WHAT WOULD A WIN IN DALLAS MEAN TO YOU? "It would mean a lot. I have said I want to get closure at Dallas. That is where I got hurt and that is a mental thing to me. That could be as important to me as a championship. I need to get that out of the way because every time I race there it is in my head. I don't ever want to leave this sport and not win Dallas. That is where my focus is going to be this week."

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO WIN AT DALLAS? "It all depends on the conditions. We stayed and tested at Charlotte to see what we can learn about the tire and how to get down the race track in the heat. In case it is hot in Dallas. If it isn't hot, we know we can run well."
