BEST APPEARING CAR -- RIDER RACING Super Comp Dragster entry, owned and driven by David Rider, Palestine, Texas.

BEST APPEARING CREW -- CIRCUS MOTORSPORTS 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix team of Super Gas competitor Craig Anderson, Waxahachie, Texas.

BEST ENGINEERED AWARD -- MAWHEE RACING 1998 Pontiac Grand Am Super Stock entry of Keith Mawhee, Carrollton, Texas.

BIG BUD SHOOTOUT AT POMONA AWARD (4,000 to the No. 1 Qualifier in Top Fuel) -- Joe Amato, Exeter, Pa., TENNECO Automotive Dragster, 4.639 seconds, 318.47 mph.

BIG BUD SHOOTOUT AT INDY AWARD (4,000 to the No. 1 Qualifier in Funny Car) -- Cruz Pedregon, Moorpark, Calif., Interstate Batteries/Hot Rod Magazine Pontiac Firebird, 4.855 seconds, 314.79 mph.

NHRA PRO STOCK CHALLENGE AWARD ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) -- Warren Johnson, Sugar Hill, Ga., GM Performance Parts Pontiac Firebird, 7.004 seconds, 197.54 mph.

CRAFTSMAN CREW CHIEF OF THE RACE AWARDS ($1,000 to the Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock crew chiefs of the race) -- Ed McCullough for the American International Airways/Kitty Hawk Top Fuel entry driven by Doug Kalitta, Austin Coil/Bernie Federly for the Castrol GTX Funny Car driven by John Force, and Mike Edwards for the JK Racing Pro Stock entry driven by himself.
