Cruz Pedregon Bandimere Wrap Up
MORRISON, Colo. (July 17, 2005) -- Advance Auto Parts driver Cruz Pedregon fell in the first round of eliminations during today's Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway.
It was a close match, as Pedregon posted a 5.142-second elapsed time 286.13 mph, but it wasn't enough to outrun Gary Scelzi's 5.023-second lap at 297.22 mph.
"We struggled a little bit," Pedregon said. "It's hard to adjust here in the thinner air and we were chasing it all weekend. We are on the ragged edge, and the tune-ups are so close, that we were hurting some equipment this weekend."
"Every team goes through weekend's like this, though," Pedregon added. "This team is too good and we'll come back strong in Seattle next weekend. I've been around this sport long enough to know that all you need is one run to get back on a roll."
