Denver: Shelly Howard preview

MORRISON, Col - Federal Mogul Dragster driver Shelly Howard will be looking for her second career national event win this weekend during the Mopar Parts Mile High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway just outside of Denver, Colorado. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native won her first national event here just two years ago in 1998.

Howard said, "We just hope the car performs up to par here this weekend, and I do my job driving. That's really all you can hope for when you come here."

Making the trek to Denver is always tough for racers, due to the high altitude of the track. In most cases, it takes a totally different setup than what most cars use at lower altitudes.

"We have Tom Conway doing the tuning, and he has a pretty good track record here at 'the Mountain.' He has always had a good set up here, and we feel that will really benefit us."
