In the third session Jeg was the first of the two identical looking Jeg's Mail Order Chevrolet Cavaliers to take on the Bandimere Speedway track. Jeg launched from the line and the car bogged and then once again took off. He ran a disappointing 7.556 at 187.57 mph and remained in the No. 12 position.

"We took a step backwards in the third session. We are going to spend a lot of time looking through our data to make sure that this problem does not persist," said Jeg.

Troy blasted off of the line without any hesitation in the morning session. The car hooked up with the center of the groove from start to finish. He ran a 7.341 at 187.78 mph. Although the run was not an improvement, it was a competitive run and Troy stayed in the No. 11 spot.

"The conditions that we had for the third session are very close to what we think the first round will be like on raceday. We did not improve like we had expected. On the other hand, I think that we are on to something," explained Troy.

Jeg did not improve his qualifying position during the final session. However, he did improve over his earlier run. Jeg ran a 7.418 at 186.82 mph and got bumped down one spot to land in the No. 13 position.

"The problem that we experienced in the third session was greatly reduced. We are going in the right direction, it just needs to happen quicker. The changes that we made between sessions today should have yielded a better result for the Jeg's Chevy Cavalier. Our entire group will be focused on winning at Bandimere Speedway when it counts the most," said Jeg.

Troy crossed the finish line beams with a 7.331 at 187.99 mph during the fourth session. He ran a very respectable 7.341 at 187.99 mph.

"We are showing better consistency this weekend and we are making good runs. I am the most excited that I have been this year going into raceday. Team Jeg's will be ready for raceday and we are all looking forward to having a great day on the mountain," explained Troy.

A total of 25 Pro Stock cars battled over four qualifying sessions to be a part of the sixteen available position for raceday. The field was separated by .070 seconds from top (7.273) to bottom (7.343).

In the opening round Jeg Coughlin and his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will go head-to-head against Darrell Alderman. Lane choice will go to Alderman. Troy Coughlin will face off against local Colorado businessman and racer V. Gaines in round one. V. Gaines will have lane choice.

The identical looking Jeg's Mail Order entries will battle from opposite sides. Team Jeg's will be working toward another final round match up on the mountain when the sun comes up on raceday. The two brothers faced off in the Pro Stock final round in 1998.
