ENGLISHTOWN NJ - SUMMIT FastNews - 3:30 PM Track drying is well underway, with a targeted start time of 4 PM. Racing action will resume with Pro Stock, Funny Car, and Top Fuel qualifying, with the Pro Stock Motorcycles at the end of the rotation since they got two runs in yesterday. Weather permitting, a second Pro session is slated for 7 PM.
Since the Pro Stock cars only received one qualifying run Friday, the Holley Dominator Pro Stock Duel has been postponed until two weeks from now, at Chicago.
The rain delay today shredded most of the rest of the already-ambitious run schedule for the event as well. The Sportsman competitors will bear the brunt of the impact, with runs restricted to whatever time is available between the two Pro sessions today, and between and after the Pro eliminations rounds Sunday. If necessary, Sportsman eliminations will probably be completed Monday.
Stay tuned, this revised schedule is firmly chiseled in Jello.
