Gainesville: Craig Treble eliminations summary

Gainesville, FL -- When the NHRA Pro Stock cars first experienced the new LED bulbs used this season, there were many red lights, and the common reaction was, "You see them come on much quicker that the old style bulbs" along with, "How will the Pro Stock Bikes be affected?"

With Gainesville being the first race on the NHRA POWERade tour to feature the Pro Stock Bike class, the question has been answered. Three of the top 4 qualifiers went out due to red light starts, and Craig Treble on the Matco Tools Suzuki was one of them. "Everyone knew the new LED's would be a factor, I fought them all weekend" said Treble.

After a first round win over Chris Reuter, the Matco Tools Suzuki was facing Andrew Hines who was busy making history by qualifying, and then winning rounds on the Vance & Hines V-Rod Harley Davidson. The round two match was over when Treble left too early, turning on the red light. "I was bit by the bulbs" said Craig, adding, "I had a couple of near red lights in qualifying, so I knew it would be a big part of this race. I personally would like to see NHRA add another .030 to the delay, it would obviously help both the Pro Stock Bikes and the Pro Stock Cars"

"My Crew Chief Calvin had the tune up right where we wanted it, and the bike was working good, but I dropped the ball. I fell bad because the Matco Tools distributors want that good news on Monday morning, I don't like to let them down like that"
