JEG'S Mail Order Racing Sunday Pit Notes

Jeg Coughlin, Jr/#2 Pro Stock:

In the first round Jeg faced off against Ray Franks. Jeg took the win with a 6.904 to a slower 6.961 to take the win. The second round put the Coughlin brother's Jeg and Troy face to face. Both brother's left the line side by side (.472 -vs- .475). Troy took the win when younger brother Jeg experienced transmission problems when his #2 JEG'S Mail Order Cutlass came out of gear. "The team will be working extremely hard to prepare for the next race in Houston, " say Jeg. "Our team is focused on the '99 NHRA Winston Pro Stock Championship and we have plenty of races left in the season; this fight is far from over."

Troy Coughlin/#24 Pro Stock:

The first round put Troy up against Mark Pawuk, in a battle of the Mail Order Companies. Troy and his #24 JEG'S machine left the beams first and never looked back (7.073 -vs- 7.830). The second round put brother's Jeg and troy head to head, in a battle of the yellow and black JEG'S cars. Troy took the win light and advanced to the semifinal round. The semifinal round looked like a rematch from the previous race, the CSK Nationals. Troy's car made a move and got out of the groove. He drove back into the middle of the groove. Kurt's win light came on (6.882 -vs- 6.954). Troy noted, "We had a strong weekend. Putting the #24 JEG'S Mail Order Cutlass in the semifinal round at this race helps us to gather more valuable NHRA Winston points."
