Indy ORP: Jason Line preview

Like most Line wants to win Mac Tools U.S. Nationals but--

CLERMONT, Ind. (August 27, 2007) -- Everybody wants to win the NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals this weekend at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis, but Jason Line doesn't care who wins as long as it is a KB Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pontiac.

"Yes, I'm like everybody else at Indy, I want to win," said Line, who develops the horsepower for both the Summit Racing Pontiac he drives, and for the Summit Racing Pontiac of his teammate Greg Anderson. "But, I also want to see Greg get that fifth straight Mac Tools U.S. Nationals win. I understand nobody has every won five straight. So part of me is pulling for Greg. The other part of me says that if for any reason something happens that he doesn't get number five, I'll be right there to back him up cause I'm still looking for my first Indy win.

"Also, the Countdown to the Championship is in the home stretch and it's important that both Greg and I get off to a fast start so that we'll be there in the end."

The second segment (Countdown to 4) of the Countdown to the Championship begins here at Indy. Line holds down the fifth spot in points, 40 points behind Anderson, who leads the eight Pro Stock drivers that advanced to the four-race playoff that determine the four drivers that will move on to the third and final segment (Countdown to One) and will crown the champion for 2007.
