FRAM Top Fuel Dragster Runs Best of 4.532 Seconds

JOLIET, Ill., June 9, 2007 -- An extremely difficult Route 66 Raceway racing surface created problems aplenty for all the Top Fuel entrants in the Torco Racing Fuels Nationals during Friday and Saturday qualifying. But Cory McClenathan and the Scott Griffin Motorsports FRAM Top Fuel team registered two solid runs, one Friday and one Saturday as qualifying concluded for Sunday's Torco Racing Fuels Nationals

His quickest, 4.532 seconds at 330.23 mph Friday night, assured them of starting ninth in eliminations. The team came back Saturday afternoon and registered an impressive 4.632-second time at 322.11 mph.

All 16 qualifiers, in fact, came from Friday's night session that almost stretched to midnight. Many cars lost traction and aborted their runs both Friday and Saturday.

Cory Mac races Larry Dixon in the opening round. Dixon was No. 8 at 4.516 at 315.19 mph.
