Kerker to sponsor NHRA Sportsman Motorcycle Championship.

GLENDORA, Calif. (April 5, 2002) - The National Hot Rod Association signed a multi-year agreement today with SuperTrapp Industries to be the exclusive sponsor of NHRA's Sportsman Motorcycle category.

The NHRA Kerker Motorcycle Series, held in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, will allow sportsman motorcycle competitors in select NHRA Divisions the opportunity to compete for divisional championships and an invitation to the prestigious NHRA Kerker King of the Coast competition.

"We're very pleased to announce this exciting program for our sportsman motorcycle competitors," said Len Imbrogno, NHRA director of sportsman racing and member tracks. "For the first time in the history of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series we will offer a championship points structure for motorcycles. We're certain the NHRA Kerker Motorcycle Series will prove to be a great feeder system for our Pro Stock Motorcycle category in our NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series."

The NHRA Kerker Motorcycle Series will be contested in four NHRA Divisions (4, 5, 6 and 7), offering an overall purse of $7,400 to be paid to first, second and third place finishers in each division.

"We're very excited at SuperTrapp to be associated with the NHRA and to support sportsman motorcycle racing," said Jon Hedges, general manager, SuperTrapp Industries. "Kerker has won world championships in motorcycle racing in the past, and Kerker is getting back to its roots as a performance product. We're confident that this series will be an effective way to help deliver that message."

In the NHRA Kerker King of the Coast competition, the top four riders from each of those divisions will compete for the title during the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November. The winner of the special all-star invitational race will earn $1,000, and the runner-up will receive $500.

Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, SuperTrapp Industries is a global manufacturer and exporter of performance exhaust systems for motorcycles, ATVs and automobiles under the SuperTrapp and Kerker brands. It is a subsidiary of Dreison International.

Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., the NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It presents 23 national events through its NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has more than 80,000 members nationwide and more than 130 member tracks. The NHRA-sanctioned sportsman and bracket racing series' provide competition opportunities for drivers of all levels. The NHRA develops the stars of tomorrow by offering the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Series, NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series and the NHRA Street Legal Program. The NHRA also offers the NHRA Castrol GTX Jr. Drag Racing League for youths ages 8 to 17.
