LAS VEGAS (April 12, 2008) Doug Herbert, owner and driver of the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel dragster, is ready to race after four rounds of qualifying action for the NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Faced with tricky track conditions and the warmest weather of the young 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing season, Herbert and the SnaponFranchise.com team qualified in the No. 8 position.

The fastest pass of weekend came during the second session on Saturday afternoon, with Herbert steering the 8,000 horsepower machine through the lights with a strong 4.61 second pass at 315.05 mph.

"These are the some of the hottest and slickest track conditions we have seen this year," said Herbert. "A lot of the teams have struggled to make it down the track, and we were able to make it down three out of four passes. That shows how consistent we are and what a strong team we have.

"We had one of the best runs in the second session on Saturday, which will be important for race day conditions tomorrow. We want to win some rounds and keep moving up in the points, and that is just what we plan to do."

Herbert will have lane choice and face Brandon Bernstein in the first round of eliminations.
