Cory Mac 11th; Ready for Shootout
FRAM Dragster Runs 4.577 at Friday

LAS VEGAS, October 26, 2007 -- Cory McClenathan's 4.577-second, 326.56-mph run Friday afternoon in the first round of qualifying for Sunday's ACDelco Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway put him 11th. It also served as a tune-up run for Saturday's Technicoat Top Fuel Shootout that pays $100,000 to the winner.

The FRAM dragster was on the way to what appeared to be a quicker elapsed time when it was slowed by mechanical difficulties Friday evening.

"I don't now what happened to the car on the last run, but it had good early (computer) numbers," McClenathan said. "We were just going down the track and the next thing I know is my head almost hit the dashboard (when the forward momentum suddenly stopped)."

McClenathan meets Tony Schumacher in the Shootout's opening round. "He ran good last night (No. 1 at 4.482 seconds), but can he do it in the sunshine tomorrow?" he asked.
