Las Vegas -- Mopar Motorsports NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series teams completed the final day of qualifying for this weekend's NHRA national event at The Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The following are notes and quotes from today's qualifying activity.

GREG STANFIELD, driver of the DBP Enterprises Dodge Neon R/T

Greg Stanfield picked up the pace in his final-qualifying effort as well. Stanfield, who drives the Hemi-powered DBP Enterprises Dodge Neon R/T, clicked off a 6.926-second elapsed time at 198.41 mph; taking home the third-starting position.

"We have been figuring it out this weekend," Stanfield said. "I really want to win this race. We have run well here in the past -- with our Pro Stock Truck. I need to get my driving in line for tomorrow."

Stanfield will match up with Mark Pawuk in round one.

GENE WILSON, driver of the Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T

Gene Wilson stepped up to the plate and nabbed the sixth slot. In the fourth and final session, Wilson's Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T drove to a 6.940-second elapsed time at 198.41 mph. It's the 11th time this season that Wilson has qualified in the top half of the field.

"The car felt great in that last pass," Wilson said. "I knew it was on a good pass. I want to thank all the guys that work so hard on this team; they really have put together a great car here. I'm pretty pumped about tomorrow."

Wilson will face off against Mike Edwards in the first round tomorrow.

LARRY MORGAN, driver of the Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T

Larry Morgan completed a frustrating weekend of qualifying just outside the top 16. The Newark, Ohio, driver and pilot of the Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T logged a 6.983-second elapsed time at 197.65 mph.

"We struggled all weekend with our 60-foot times," Morgan said. "We have a lot of power, but we need to get it to the track. We'll look at it and finish off strong in Pomona (Calif.)."

DARRELL ALDERMAN, driver of the Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T

Darrell Alderman and the Mopar Parts Dodge Neon R/T failed to make the show. The 28-time NHRA national event winner ran a 6.978-second lap at 196.16 mph.

"We made a couple of good passes this weekend," Alderman said. "We just never made a complete one. We would shake the tires or be light in the clutch. It just never came together for us all weekend."
