HAMMONDS DISAPPOINTED WITH LAS VEGAS FINISH

(LAS VEGAS, Apr. 12, 2008) - (LAS VEGAS, Apr. 12, 2008) - Coming off of a positive start on the first day of qualifying, Hammonds is bumped out of the qualifying field after two qualifying rounds today at the Ninth annual SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas.

Still plagued by mechanical problems, Hammonds experienced early tire shake, having to shut the car off, spoiling his last chance to make it into Sunday's elimination rounds. Results from the run proved that changing the set-up and making carburetor adjustments in an attempt to get back to a solid baseline was not the perfect strategy to meet the grade.

After a good showing on Friday, Hammonds wanted to use the third qualifying session to solidify his qualifying spot by improving his standings, but fell short, being bumped out of the 16-man qualifying field, finishing in 18th place.

Nitro Fish/Indicom Electric Pontiac GXP driver, Kenny Koretsky, who leases an engine, held on to the number one spot to make it into Sunday's elimination rounds. This is the first time he will start race day in the top spot.
