Callaway signs South Texas Dental for Dallas event.
ENNIS, Texas - NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster driver Lee Callaway has signed South Texas Dental Centers to a one race deal for this weekend's O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec at the Texas Motorplex just south of Dallas. Callaway reached the deal after clinching the Division 4 Championship last weekend in Noble, Okla.
Callaway, from Baytown, Texas, is excited about this weekends race with South Texas Dental on board. He and his team are also still riding the emotional high of winning their first Division 4 Championship.
"We are really looking forward to this weekend," said Callaway. "We have worked with South Texas Dental before, but never on this level. They have six locations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and we really want to show them what NHRA Drag Racing can do for them. We have always done well at this race, and coming off of clinching the Division Championship, we are really pumped up."
The Texas Motorplex has always been noted for it's record breaking performances. Callaway hopes to run better than his personal best of 5.45 second elapsed time this weekend.
"I think the conditions will definitely be better than they were in Indy when we ran that .45," stated Callaway. "I have a lot of confidence in my tuner Tom Conway, so I think we'll be able to run better than that. We're going to try real hard to put this car in the top of the pack for South Texas Dental."
Qualifying will begin on Friday for the alcohol cars with two sessions. One final session Saturday morning will conclude qualifying with round one of eliminations later in the afternoon. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
South Texas Dental, headquartered in Bellaire, Texas, is a group of family dentists with several locations throughout Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Ft. Worth committed to making the experience at the dentist a positive one. South Texas Dental enjoys catering to their patients' comfort, and giving them the special attention they deserve.
