"We have been extremely satisfied with our corporate involvement with the NHRA, the Worsham family and Firebird Raceway in our hometown of Phoenix," said Martin Fraser, CSK president and chief operating officer. "Checker Schuck's Kragen has supported NHRA championship drag racing for a number of years and we are happy to see them return as the official auto parts store," said Bob Wagner, NHRA vice president of sales. "CSK Auto has been instrumental in maximizing the NHRA's exposure through innovative promotions and advertising campaigns across the country, as well as their sponsorship of a two-car Funny Car team. The NHRA is eager to build on its successful business association with CSK Auto as the popularity of drag racing continues to reach unprecedented levels."
In addition to the extension as NHRA's "Official Auto Parts Store", CSK Auto also has signed a multi-year agreement extending its sponsorship of the Checker Schuck's Kragen Nationals at Firebird International Raceway outside of Phoenix. The event has been a mainstay on the NHRA circuit and will celebrate its 20th annual event in 2004.
