Memphis: Del Worsham preview

* Del Worsham is in 10th place in the NHRA Full Throttle Funny Car point standings; he trails ninth place by 14 points and first place by 156 points after the second race in the Countdown to 1 NHRA Playoffs. Worsham is making his first appearance in NHRA Playoffs.

* Last week in Dallas, Worsham was the No. 13 qualifier and lost to Ashley Force Hood in the first round of eliminations. He has two wins this season; he visited victory circle in Madison, Ill. and Bristol, Tenn.

* One year ago at Memphis, Worsham did not qualify for eliminations; he has never won at Memphis Motorsports Park.

* Worsham has 24 wins in his Funny Car career; he is seventh on the NHRA's all-time Funny Car wins list trailing sixth place by just two wins.

Worsham prior to Memphis:

"We were optimistic heading into Dallas, but our Al-Anabi Funny Car didn't get the performance we all wanted so it's back to the drawing board. The good news is that there are six races in the Countdown, and we still have four to go. We've put ourselves in a hole, but we still have time to dig our way out and make a run at this thing. We continue to appreciate everything Sheik Khalid has done and continues to do for our Al-Anabi Racing team."
