Team Jeg's is ready for battle.

After the fog lifted the 36 Pro Stock cars made their way to the starting line for the second day of qualifying. The sun beat down on the track all day and provided a different stage for the team's to qualify on.

Jeg and Troy Coughlin began the second day of qualifying sitting in the No. 6 and No. 20 positions respectively. Both drivers were focused on improving their times and qualifying positions.

Jeg Coughlin Jr jumped up to the No. 2 spot in the morning qualifying session. His Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier crossed the finish line beams with an impressive 6.842 at 200.23 mph. Jeg did not improve in the final session and remained in the No. 2 slot.

In the opening round Jeg Coughlin Jr will face off against Greg Anderson. Both drivers our battling for the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Championship behind leader Jim Yates. There will be plenty of eyes on this match up.

"We have made three solid runs through qualifying and we are ready for battle tomorrow. The match up with Greg Anderson in the first round is an important one and everyone knows how important it is for either of us to win. It will be a great race for the loyal fans at Memphis Motorsports Park and everyone watching on ESPN," calmly explained Jeg.

Troy Coughlin was on the outside looking in going into the final session. With the mounting pressure the team remained cool, calm and focused. Troy laid down a run of 6.866 at 200.14 mph and rocketed to the No. 11 position.

"Making the run that we made without backs against the wall is what it is all about. Team Jeg's remained focused at the task at hand. When Gary Pearman (Crew Chief) got on the radio and told me what we ran I went nuts! I told the guys that they were the best and I had the best crew out here," said an excited Troy Coughlin.

Troy Coughlin will go head-to-head with Kenny Koretsky. Lane choice will go to Koretsky.
