MCCLENATHAN WILL FACE DOUG KALITTA IN PHOENIX FINAL ROUND ON MONDAY

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Feb. 21, 2010) - Driving the FRAM Top Fuel dragster, Cory McClenathan reached his 58th career final round today at the 26th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird Int'l Raceway, just outside of Phoenix. The final round has been postponed until Monday, because of lateness following rain delays and on-track incidents today.

This is McClenathan's fourth final round at this event, having won in 1994 and 1998 and finished second in 1996.

McClenathan first defeated Mike Strasburg in the opening stanza with a solid 3.843-second elapsed time at 315.86 mph, then continued his stellar performance by disposing of Troy Buff with an even quicker 3.829/315.27, the quickest pass of that round.

He then set low E.T. of the day in the semifinal round against Steve Torrence, of 3.812/311.70.

He'll face Doug Kalitta in the final round, and will take over the points lead with a victory.
