Jeg Will Start From The No. 3 Spot
Jeg and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier started the second and final day of qualifying sitting in the No. 3 position with a run of 6.792 at 203.00 mph.
In the third qualifying session Jeg was second in 60-foot at 1.008 seconds. The JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier continued its march to the finish line and posted a 6.819 at 202.58 mph. Jeg made the fifth quickest run of the session. The run was not an improvement and he stayed in the No. 3 position.
"Things were a little different regarding the conditions today," explained Jeg. "We were about 10-degrees hotter with no clouds to help cool down the track. What we saw in the third qualifying session is probably pretty close to what we will see on race day. So we are pleased with how we ran and we know that we have more under the hood."
In the final qualifying session Jeg laid down a run of 6.847 at 202.52 mph. The run was not an improvement and he stayed in the No. 3 qualifying position.
"We have been pretty consistent from the time we rolled the JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier out of the trailer," commented Jeg. "The guys have done a great job tuning the car and now we need to kick it up a notch on race day. We have a car and a combination that is capable of winning tomorrow (Sunday)."
Jeg will face off against Jim Yates in the opening round. Lane choice will go to the JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier.
