Jeg is Focused on Improving

Jeg Coughlin, Jr. started the second day of qualifying looking to break firmly into the quick-16 from the No. 20 position.

The yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier posted a run of 6.833 at 202.52 mph. The run was an improvement over his prior qualifying effort. Jeg landed in the No. 16 position by the end of the second qualifying session.

"When I was told what we ran over the radio I was pretty surprised," explained Jeg. "The run felt a lot better from the seat. We will just have to come out tomorrow swinging and make it happen as a team. The good thing is we get two shots at the track and we can use what we learned today to improve our qualifying position tomorrow."

There are two remaining scheduled qualifying sessions before the field is set for the NHRA K&N Filters Winternationals tomorrow (Saturday). The qualifying session are to be held at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
