Paul Romine to race Eddie Hill in opening round of the Pennzoil Nationals

DINWIDDLE, VA -- Paul Romine and the CARQUEST Top Fuel dragster will line up against Eddie Hill in the opening round of final eliminations at the 4th annual Pennzoil Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.

Romine of Indianapolis qualified ninth, covering the quarter-mile in 4.736-seconds at 276.92 miles-per-hour. Hill meanwhile qualified eighth with a 4.725/302.72 and earned lane choice for his first round meeting with the CARQUEST team.

"I've never raced Eddie Hill in eliminations and to the best of my knowledge in qualifying so I'm looking forward to our first round meeting," Romine said. "He'll be ready for us with the race being sponsored by Pennzoil (Hill's primary sponsor) so we'll have to be ready for anything when we face him in probably the first pairing down the track on Sunday."

Final eliminations for the 4th annual NHRA Pennzoil Nationals are scheduled to begin Sunday at 11 a.m., beginning with Top Fuel. Live final round coverage with highlights of eliminations will air on ESPN2 from 4-6 p.m. (EDT).
