Doug Herbert and the Snap-on team will be out west again this weekend, July 18-20, for the Schucks Auto Supply NHRA Nationals at Pacific Raceways near Seattle, Wash., race two of the three-event 'western swing'. The team was glad to see the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel dragster in the quarter-finals last weekend at Bandimere Speedway but is focusing on going much further in eliminations this weekend.

Herbert's first-round win against Brandon Bernstein last weekend further solidified his position in the points standings. He remains eighth but is 100 points ahead of ninth-place driver Doug Kalitta. At Seattle last year, Herbert qualified sixth and beat Cory McClenathan in the first round of eliminations but suffered a second-round lose to Rod Fuller.

Doug Herbert:

"I had the track record at Seattle for awhile. One of the cool things about that track is where it's at. It's surrounded by trees, almost like it's in the middle of the forest. When you're at the track, you can look up and see Mt. Rainer through the tress, that's kinda cool. The cars run good there too, being at sea level, a big change from Denver last weekend."

"After the race in Seattle, I'm riding my Harley down to Sonoma. I figured, if I came back to Charlotte I would spend a day traveling home and then another day flying back out west. So riding my Harley down is like getting a day of vacation without really having to take a vacation! It's such a nice ride and there's a lot of sightseeing so we'll probably stop through a couple of places."
