Herbert Hopes to Move Up in Points in Sonoma

This weekend Doug Herbert will be behind the wheel of the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel dragster at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Ca. for the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals. The Snap-on team has a good deal of momentum heading to the final race of the 'western swing' after their quarterfinal appearance in Denver and last weekend's semifinal appearance at Seattle.

The team is in a good position to move up in the points standings as they sit only thirteen points behind seventh-place Hillary Will. Last year's event at Sonoma was a good points race for Herbert. He was the No. 1 qualifier with a 4.556 at 315.64 mph and went to the semifinals, which resulted in him moving up from 13th to 10th in the standings.

Doug Herbert:

"I've had pretty good luck at Sonoma," said Herbert. "Being the No. 1 qualifier last year was great and we won the race there in 2002. Everybody loves going to wine country to race. The area is beautiful and the facility is one of the best in the country!"

"This team has a lot going right now," said Herbert. "I feel like we have what it takes to keep moving up in the points. We've had two great weekends out here so far and I think this one will be just as good. We have the potential to win and we're going to make it happen."
