Jeg wins and moves to the no. 3 spot
Jeg and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier started race day focused on winning from the No. 2 qualifying position. The 33-year old second generation driver was looking to score his first professional win of the season and his first at the only track (Infineon Raceway) on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule he is winless at.
Jeg disposed of Greg Stanfield, Dave Connolly, Allen Johnson, and points leader Greg Anderson to score his first victory of the season and 32 of his professional career. He out ran three of his opponents and won in the final round on a hole shot by .0104 seconds.
"We knew we were going to have our hands full in the final round," explained Jeg. "We stayed focused as a team all weekend and eliminated making errors. The guys did a great job all weekend and it feels great to get back into the winner's circle. We moved up a position in the NHRA POWERade championship by taking advantage of an opportunity. This was a rewarding win for everyone involved with our program."
