"We're going there focused and racey. I put myself in a position to prove myself to the team and prove myself in Top Fuel. I haven't been late in a long time and I don't like making mistakes. We're going to be focused on the race car and nothing else matters. We want results. We have the car to win races. It's time to make stuff happen and make a move in the points."

Bazemore St. Louis Notebook

Last June at Gateway, Bazemore qualified his Matco Tools Funny Car second in the 16-car order with a run of 4.806 seconds at 325.37 mph. He was defeated in the quarterfinals by John Force.

The highest Bazemore has qualified at Gateway Int'l Raceway was second in 2006.

Bazemore recorded top speed of the meet at the St. Louis race last year, 325.37 mph. He has earned top speed honors 28 times in his career.

Gateway Int'l Raceway is one of nine NHRA tracks where Bazemore has yet to earn a victory. He has reached the winner's circle at 12 of the current 21 NHRA tracks.

Last weekend at Atlanta Dragway, Bazemore qualified fourth in the 16-car Top Fuel order. He has qualified fourth or better at the past four races with one pole (Houston) to his credit.
