Harker Claims 3rd straight Victory with win at LVMS

Las Vegas, NV -- Top Alcohol Funny Car driver and crew chief, Steve Harker made the final round for the twelfth time this season at the LODRS Division Seven Event held at ZMAX Dragway, November 7-9 and was successful in claiming the 'Wally' trophy and his fifth Divisional win of the year.

Harker rounded out qualifying in the number two spot with passes of 5.62et and 5.60et in one of the biggest fields of the season with over twenty-three funny cars looking to make the eight car show. When all was said and done, Harker faced off against number seven qualifier, Von Smith and took the win with an impressive 5.59 seconds at 257mph pass to defeat Smith's 5.71seconds run.

Rain delayed Sunday's competition forcing track operators to postpone race action until Monday. When racing resumed, Harker took on rookie Terry Ruckman in the semi-finals who went into instant tire shake and watched on as Harker drove by to take the win with another outstanding performance of 5.585et at 253mp pass.

Saving the best till last, Harker faced off against number two rival Jay Payne who ended it all on the start line with a red light handing Harker the win. Harker then drove on through with his best pass of the weekend 5.582et at 257mph run.

"We came to Vegas as a last minute decision with some support from our close friends and sponsors, after having already made a successful campaign this season we felt we owed it to them and our team to have a little more fun before the year is over. It's a great feeling to win when you have no pressure transcending to a championship chase and I really hope we can keep the momentum going and back up our win in Pomona, CA next weekend for the Auto Club Finals." Said Harker

The Harker Motorsport Team will compete at the Auto Club Finals, November 13-16 at Pomona, CA as their last race of the season with support from their sponsors OMS Graphics, Lucas Oil, Southern Safety Supply, Hedman Hedders and Ringers Gloves.

Also, Steve and Jenelle Harker would like to pass on a BIG 'Thank You' to Shane and Eric Beaty and their families for all their tremendous support this season.
