BRAINERD, Minn. - NHRA Competition Eliminator driver Tina Stull has announced she will drive a second car out of the Freeman Motorsports stable starting at this weekend's Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. Stull will still carry the Interstate Batteries/Mac Tools colors along with new associate Supreme Lending. In addition to her sponsors, Stull will be raising awareness for Paralyzed Veterans of America on her car.
Stull, from Boerne, Texas, is excited about teaming up with Robert Freeman and driving his second car, a E/Super Modified Automatic 2004 Chevy Cavalier.
"I made some test runs last weekend and got acclimated with driving a door car," said Stull, who previously campaigned a G/Econo Dragster. "Once I started to get a feel for the differences in a door car and a dragster, it started coming easy to me. I just hope to make a good showing for my sponsors Interstate Batteries and Mac Tools. They have stuck with me in what has been an up and down year. We're also excited to bring on associate sponsor Supreme Lending."
In addition to on the track success, Stull hopes raising awareness for the Paralyzed Veterans of America will help people off the track.
"It's just one small way I can help give back," stated Stull. "It's not only to raise awareness, but to honor those who have been injured in combat defending out country. They try to change the perception that once you've received a spinal cord injury, life is limited. The PVA tries to enrich those veterans lives by showing them they are only limited by the barriers they set for themselves. I think they are a great organization, and I'm honored to display their name to the great NHRA Drag Racing fan base."
Qualifying begins on Thursday with final eliminations concluding the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to NHRA.com for the latest round by round postings from Brainerd.
