NHRA FEATURED IN NEW VIDEO BY COUNTRY MUSIC SUPERSTAR TRAVIS TRITT GLENDORA, Calif. -- National Hot Rod Association stars and their 300-mph cars will put some drive into the video for country music superstar Travis Tritt's new single, "She's Going Home with Me," which debuts April 16 on Country Music Television. The video will be the first in country music history to include NHRA stars and action. Six-time NHRA Winston Funny Car champion John Force and his Castrol GTX car are featured prominently with Tritt in the video, which also includes footage of the Budweiser King Dragster of defending NHRA Winston Top Fuel champion Kenny Bernstein and the Pennzoil Dragster of 1993 NHRA Winston Top Fuel champion Eddie Hill. Warner Brothers recording artist Tritt has sold more than 14 million albums and has 14 No. 1 hits, including such country standards as "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)," "Country Club" and "Anymore." His current Warner Brothers record is "The Restless Kind." "She's Going Home with Me" is the third single from the new record. The first single, "More than You'll Ever Know," took the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts in early November 1996, while the second single, "Where Corn Don't Grow," reached No. 3. Tritt and NHRA began their joint promotional opportunities at the 1996 Winston Finals. Tritt was the grand marshal of the season-ending race at Pomona Raceway and also served as the co- host of the 1996 NHRA Winston Championship Awards Ceremony at Cerritos, Calif. A longtime drag racing fan, Tritt attended Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School at Pomona Raceway in November 1996 and January 1997 to earn his NHRA Super Comp competition license. Many cross-promotional opportunities will be pursued with Tritt to combine NHRA Winston Drag Racing and country music. Those plans include merchandising, television appearances and video promotions. Force and Tritt will star in a one-hour television special, "Burning Thunder," airing at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) May 18 on The Nashville Network. The show, which directly precedes live coverage of the Mopar Parts Nationals, also will feature past and present NHRA stars such as Bernstein, Don "The Snake" Prudhomme, "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, Warren and Kurt Johnson, Hill and his wife, Ercie, and Angelle Seeling. -30-
