VISTA, CA (March 27, 2003) - Kristen Wilson has been named Public Relations Manager for 2002 NHRA POWERade Top Fuel Champion Larry Dixon and Miller Lite Dragster, according to Don Prudhomme Racing Team Manager Skip Allum.
In her new position, Wilson will handle the daily management of all public and media relations efforts for Dixon. In addition to providing information to the motor sports media and working with team sponsors, she will also focus publicity efforts within the mainstream news media, as well as the rising genre of "extreme sports" media.
Wilson comes to Don Prudhomme Racing with a unique understanding of the news media as she has held positions both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Most recently Wilson worked as a producer for Fox Sports Net's "Bluetorch TV," which provided programming on such extreme sports as surfing, skateboarding and motocross. She gained additional production knowledge while at ESPN's "Beg, Borrow and Deal," as well as on camera experience as a news anchor for NBC affiliate KTVH in Helena, Montana.
"What an incredible opportunity to be working with champions, both past and present, here at Don Prudhomme Racing," said Wilson. "I am looking forward to joining the Snake Racing family and working with Larry and the entire Miller Lite team."
"Kristen brings the type of versatility and unique experience that our public relations efforts demand in continuing to create awareness for Larry and our sponsors," said Allum. "I know that Larry and everyone here at Snake Racing is eager to see how Kristen's fresh approach will help take advantage of the momentum we currently enjoy as the reigning NHRA POWERade Top Fuel champ."
All requests for news media interviews and personal appearances for Larry Dixon should be directed to Kristen Wilson via email at kristen@snakeracing.com, or by calling 760-598-7121 ext. 13.
Don Prudhomme Racing is headquartered in Vista, California, with a second shop - Don Prudhomme Racing, Indianapolis - serving as the hub for racing operations. Drivers Ron Capps, Larry Dixon and Tommy Johnson Jr. complete the roster of Prudhomme's stable of drivers and proudly represent such racing partners as Miller Brewing Company, United States Smokeless Tobacco Company, Lucas Oil Products, Mac Tools and Raybestos.
