GLENDORA, Calif.-Ted Yerzyk has been hired as a media relations manager for the National Hot Rod Association, NHRA Vice President of Public Relations and Communications Jerry Archambeault announced.

Yerzyk, 23, joins the NHRA after spending more than four years at XTRA Sports 690 radio in San Diego. As a studio engineer and producer for XTRA Sports 690, Yerzyk was responsible for maintaining overall sound quality of the station and flow of the talk shows.

In his new position, Yerzyk will be responsible for providing national event media relations for the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series, as well as for other NHRA racing programs and series. In addition, he will be responsible for assisting with NHRA's 50th anniversary publicity campaign.

"We're pleased to have someone with Ted's abilities join our communications team," said Archambeault. "He has a strong passion for the sport and an intense work ethic that will be crucial in helping to implement the aggressive programs and initiatives we have developed for our 50th anniversary season and beyond."

Yerzyk received a bachelor of arts degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations from San Diego State University in 2000. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Yerzyk recently relocated to Ontario, Calif. from Escondido, Calif.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the NHRA," Yerzyk said. "I look forward to working with some great people, gaining experience in the public relations field and contributing to the success of the organization during this very exciting time for the sport of drag racing."
