MacCachren, Taylor and Kincaid poised for battle at Bark River this weekend
Avon, Ind. (July 9, 2001)Rob MacCachren (Pro-4), Scott Taylor (Pro-2), and Jeff Kincaid (Pro-Lite) lead a spirited group of off-road competitors headed to the 2001 BOSS Snowplow Off-Road Challenge July 14-15 in Bark River, Michigan.
With MacCachren, Taylor and Kincaid sweeping Rounds 5 and 6 in Crandon, Wis., the defending champions have the points lead heading to Rounds 7 and 8 of the CORR EXXON Superflo Series. With four wins in five starts and after sweeping Rounds 5 and 6 in the Pro-4 division, MacCachren and his BF Goodrich/TrailMaster Ford went from an eight-point lead following Round 4 to a 29-point margin over Jason Baldwin after Round 6.
After compiling seven victories in 18 starts in Tour 2000, Scott Taylor and his EXXON Superflo Ford Pro-2 truck claimed the checkered flag in four of the five rounds in 2001. Like MacCachren, Taylor's lead increased substantially from 13 to 27 points over Evan Evans.
It took Jeff Kincaid and his Pro-Lite Forest County Potawatomi Toyota two rounds to regain his Tour 2000 form. In 2000, Kincaid secured his championship by winning the first five rounds of racing. Although he did not win the first two rounds, Kincaid is working on a three race winning streak, from Rounds 4 through 6. He holds an eight-point edge over Rookie Steve Federico.
Tickets for the 2001 BOSS Snowplow Off-Road Challenge are $ 25.00 for a two-day pass, and $15.00 for one day. The Bark River Off-Road Raceway is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, off US 2 and Hwy. 41, about 12 miles east of Escanaba, Mich. and 100 miles north of Green Bay, Wis.
