BFGoodrich Tires' Continues Eight-Year Sponsorship of CORR;
World's Toughest Off-Road Tires Pursuing Eighth Straight Championship
Indianapolis, Ind. (February 9, 2005)-2005 will be the 8th season of Championship Off Road Racing. 2005 will also be the eighth year that BFGoodrich Tires, the World's Toughest Off-Road Tires will be a sponsor of the CORR Lucas Oil Series. BFGoodrich Tires is one of three companies to have sponsored the series since it began.
"BFGoodrich Tires is proud to continue its association with one of the world's premier off-road racing series," said Todd Steen, Motorsports Marketing Manager for BFGoodrich Tires. "In addition to sponsoring the series since it began, teams racing on BFGoodrich Tires have claimed multiple class and series championships during each of the eight seasons."
BFGoodrich has had the opportunity to work with some of the best short course off-road racing drivers in the nation. During the first eight years, BFG tires have been on the winning trucks of each Pro-Lite champion. .The Pro-2 division also has eight BFGoodrich backed champions in the first eight seasons and seven consecutive Pro-2 division championships (1999-2004). In the Pro-4 division, the last five championship trucks had BFGoodrich tires.
"We are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some of the top names in off-road racing," noted Steen. "BFGoodrich takes a lot of pride in not only sponsoring its teams, but working with them to provide other support. The relationships we have developed and the input that we receive from our drivers has helped us to continually improve our products and establish BFGoodrich Tires' claim as the World's Toughest Off-Road Tires."
Over the years, BFGoodrich transferred their winning on the track to quality tires for consumers. As the ultimate testing grounds for tires, off-road racing provides an environment like no other. That is why BFGoodrich applies so much effort into their programs.
Steen pointed out that, "BFGoodrich Tires uses its involvement in motorsports to test new technologies and develop innovative tire designs that are ultimately translated into the tires that consumers buy at their local dealerships. In off-road racing, tires are put through extreme conditions making it the ideal proving ground for BFGoodrich Tires."
BFGoodrich Tires combines technological expertise with vast motorsports experience, delivering a high-performance tire for every type of vehicle from ultra-high performance tuner vehicles, sports cars and SUVs to the hottest sport trucks, pickups and rock-crawling rigs in the world.
BFGoodrich Tires has built its reputation on using motorsports as a proving ground. Success on the street begins with winning on the track and BFGoodrich Tires is involved in every type of racing, including oval, road, drag, desert and extreme rock-crawling. With 19 consecutive Baja 1000 wins, the most wins in rock-crawling history and an unmatched record on pavement, BFGoodrich Tires has proven the only records it breaks are its own.
