Huseman Races To PRO 4 VICTORY at Los Angeles Fairplex-Pomona in Sunday Finale -- CORR Round 6

#3 FABTECH / Toyo Tires / Toyota TRD / Monster Energy Pro 4 Leads Series Point's Race!

Riverside, CALIFORNIA -- In a fast and furious race that entertained a nearly sold out crowd of 9,000 fans packed in the purpose-built LA Fairplex-Pomona CORR race track, Rick Huseman won his second Pro 4 race of the season, regaining the overall 2008 championship point's lead.

Rick Huseman Racing arrived to the .76-mile race track on Wednesday afternoon and didn't stop tuning on the #3 FABTECH / Toyo Tires / Toyota TRD / Monster Energy sponsored truck until moments before the green flag dropped in the early Saturday afternoon. The first few laps of Saturday's Round 5 were a myriad of aggressive hard racing and the #3 Pro 4 was the victim of the unintended collision. Saturday's race was restarted after course workers removed twisted chromoly tube and smashed fiberglass, which laced several turns of the race course. A significant amount of the debris was from Huseman's Pro 4.

"We took a beating in those first few laps and that put us out of contention for the win, but we got around the track to take seventh for the important series points," said Huseman.

The second race of the weekend was quite a bit different as CORR veteran, Rick Huseman, was able to avoid the carnage in the first few laps of Sunday's extravaganza.

In fact, both of the Toyota TRD / Monster Energy teammates, Huseman and Greaves, worked their way through the field of Pro 4's and ran to the front, where they pulled away together demonstrating the impressive Toyota TRD power.

"Each season Toyota TRD improves their engine package and this year is no different. We have been supported by Toyota TRD with some very impressive motors and the power range this year has been tremendous," commented Huseman.

Throughout the first half of the race, Huseman ran second to the leader pressuring his Toyota TRD teammate as they ran bumper-to-bumper for nearly six of the first eight laps.

At the midway point of the race, Huseman, prepared intently for his run to the front.

When the green flag dropped signaling the 10th lap of the 18 lap race, Huseman ducked inside apexing Turn One as his Toyo Tires-shod Pro 4 hooked up nicely on the asphalt.

As he set up for Turn Two, the leader drifted outside, opening the door for Riverside, California native.

"I was waiting for the door to open and our race strategy was to be patient and wait until the final third of the race to make our charge, but when Johnny pulled to the outside, it was evident he had a problem and we took the opportunity to jump out in front and run in clean air."

Carl Renezeder began closing the gap each lap as he pushed his Lucas Oil truck wildly around the track. In lap 16, both Renezeder and Huseman came out of the deep hole in Turn 4 side-by-side, flying high off the exit jump, each pushing their trucks to their limits high into the air.

With Huseman on the outside and Renezeder on the inside, it was only Huseman that survived the descent of the massive jump, as his FABTECH suspension sucked up the biggest bumps Championship Off Road Racing has to offer.

"Both FABTECH and Toyo Tires have provided us with the components to win races and the victory in this race is a testament to our partners incredible support. The #3 truck survived where other trucks did not and this win is sweet. Heading into the six-week summer break with two wins and leading the series point's race is important for our team," explained Rick.

"I'm very proud of our guys," said Huseman. "They continue to dig hard each and every race and they've given me a great truck to race. We'll take this momentum into the break and we have plans to come off the summer break and run even faster than we have so far this season."

Rounds 5 and 6 of the CORR Series will be broadcasted on Speed Channel on Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and on NBC Sports on Sunday July 6, 2008 from 12:00 -- 1:30 p.m. Visit www.corracing.com for the full season of the television broadcast schedule.
