Scott Taylor ready for Crandon
August 25, 2003 -- Belvidere, IL - There are only 4 rounds of racing left in the 2003 Lucas Oil CORR series. Scott Taylor has a 38 point lead in Pro-2. The upcoming BorgWarner World Championship held next weekend in Crandon, Wisconsin is a favorite of fans and competitors.
At Crandon's spring event, the Forest County Potawatomi Casino Brush Run, Scott won both rounds and was 3rd overall (the highest placing 2WD) in the Governor's Cup Heavy Metal Challenge.
The annual Labor Day weekend event is considered the "Indy 500" of short course off-road racing. "This weekend of racing is not only important for the competitors, but the truck manufacturers and the automotive aftermarket, as well. Many of the marketing partners of the competitors use this weekend in their upcoming advertising and promotions. A successful weekend of racing can also create or solidify partnerships for the future. " -- Scott Taylor.
In 2002, the Labor Day event was the final rounds of the season. Scott won the Pro-2 title in the last round. Later in the day, his championship was backed up with the win in the World Championship BorgWarner Manufacturers' Heavy Metal Shootout.
"Our goal this year at the BorgWarner event is to be consistent and maintain the points lead. At this time of the season, unexpected things can go wrong. The high speed landrush start at Crandon can either put you up front or on the trailer real quick. The entire team, from the crew at the trailer, to the spotter on the tower, and my performance on the track, all need to be on the same page. With only four rounds of racing to go, staying focused is key." -- Scott Taylor
