Isuzu Motors becomes RFC India's title sponsor

Isuzu Motors has become the title sponsor of Rainforest Challenge India ahead of the fifth edition of the off-road event, it has been announced.

The Indian unit of the Japanese automobile manufacturer replaces Force Motors, which has been ever present in RFC since its inception and also fielded several factory-modified cars in the event.

Isuzu’s current line-up in India comprise the D-Max V-Cross as well as the mu-X SUV, which is also based on the same platform as the V-Cross pick-up truck.

Isuzu also has a strong international presence in rallies and off-road events including Dakar, China Silk Road Rally and the the Australasian Safari. Within India, it fields the V-Cross in several cross-countries rallies, most recently the Desert Storm.  

Commenting on the association, Mr. Ken Takashima, Deputy Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, “We are happy to be associated with this edition of RFC India, as we see a right fit in terms of promoting the spirit of adventure in India.

“Our products are highly regarded for its tough-build, durability and reliability across the world. Our products are receiving tremendous response in India and to many adventure enthusiasts, the V-Cross is an aspirational vehicle. I wish the RFC India team and the participants the best.”

Organisers Cougar Motorsport’s Founder & Director Mr. Ashish Gupta added, “Our association with Isuzu Motors India started a couple of years ago with the India 4X4 Week, where they not only participated as an exhibitor but also sponsored some of the sessions.

“I am happy to renew our association with them and have them as the Title Sponsor for RFC India 2018. ISUZU D-Max V-Cross is India’s first Adventure Utility Vehicle and has some superlative features, which make it the perfect vehicle for off-roaders and adventure enthusiasts.

“I am sure that this partnership will be mutually beneficial and the brand will get to showcase all the major highlights of this amazing vehicle to a substantial section of the Indian off-roading community that would be attending the event.”

The 2018 edition of RFC India will see participation from 41 teams, with the outfit with the fastest time after 26 Special Stages winning benefits equivalent to $10,000 (Rs 6,85,000) - including an automatic entry to the RFC Mother Event in Malaysia worth $3,900.
