The Lucas off Road Racing SuperLite Series Round #1 Kicks off at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a First Place win for Metal Mulisha and Rockstar Energy Drink Driver Brian Deegan
Las Vegas, NV (March 6, 2010) -- The SuperLite Series, part of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series, began today with a first place win by well-known Metal Mulisha and Rockstar Energy Drink Drive Brian Deegan (#38) who was racing on behalf of his Metal Mulisha teammate, Twitch.
"I wasn't even supposed to be here today," said Deegan. "But Twitch had to do a FMX show and he didn't want to lose points. My chick is about to have a baby so I have to leave if she calls, but we rocked it today and I'm glad I came."
Deegan commanded a powerful lead from the get go and even though Chad Leising (#42) and Brandon Bailey (#7) came in a close second and third Deegan still dominated the track the entire race.
Chad Leising, the second place winner, moved up from UTV's to SuperLite this year and had struggled with the truck the first few laps but quickly got a strong handle on the vehicle and walked away with second.
"I spent the first four laps getting used to the truck," said Leising, "After struggling a bit I got used to it."
"This is my second year in SuperLIte's," said Bailey. "This is a great way to start out and I want to thank Stronghold Motorsports for their support."
Bailey took home the third place finish for his team and plans to be back for another podium finish in Surprise, AZ.
The SuperLite Series will take place again on April 17th & 18th at Speedworld off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona.
