A dream for the world motor sports has become truth!

The Telefónica World Series by Nissan (World Series, Formula Nissan 2000, Campeonato de España de Formula Junior) were launched today at the Palau Sant Jordi (Barcelona), a motor sports project that will deeply impact the world of car racing competition.

The Spanish company, RPM Racing, with the backing of the telecommunications giant company, Telefónica, Nissan Motor Spain and the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, presented a serious structure to promote all international young talents from Go-Karting to the last step of the ladder to glory: a professional single seater driver.

More than 250 people gathered in this big-media-impact event. Marc Gené (BMW WilliamsF1) was the first to open long cue of official speeches: "don't let your hopes of driving a high-tech car in a serious Championship, here it comes!". Cesare Fiorio, Technical Director of the three categories, supported the idea: "Since I was in Formula One, I have looked at the Formula Nissan FIA Series with a lot of interest. This genial project drown me to be in charge of a very attractive and serious motor sports project".

But the most impressive speech was the one that Jaime Alguersuari, Chairman of RPM, addressed to all the guests: "In fact, we have to thank a lot to the British motor racing history, as well as to the French, and the Italian -- We have learnt a lot from them! After a 4-year period of big success, discovering Marc Gené , Fernando Alonso, Antonio García and Franck Montagny, only two of these young boys entered F1. But I know Franck Montagny is ready for it! Why not promoting a new step in motor racing: our last car will allow these new young start to earn a good salary, and reach glory.

Carlos Gracia, Vice-president of the FIA stated that "the FIA sees this project with very good eyes -- I want to declare that this new three-step program doesn't intend to compete against anybody in particular. -- I feel proud to be the President of the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, I know we will have to work very hard but I must say that it is a pleasure to work with promoters like RPM."

Daniel J.Young, President of Nissan Motor Spain, said that this was the product of a perfect tandem with RPM and Telefónica, and a k-project for the company, a program created in Spain but called to become more and more international every day."

The Telefónica spokesman, Carlos Illa, Head of the Sponsorship Department, was happy to keep well involved in this fantastic ladder to glory. Telefónica is the title sponsor since 1999 (Euro Open MoviStar by Nissan). Since then, as Telefónica, they have been linked in the most important car racing events: 4 years of Open Telefónica by Nissan, Indy Lights, Formula One, Le Mans, and now the Telefónica World Series by Nissan.

Lots of Team Principals, drivers and personalities were seen around: Michel Lecomte (Epsilon by Graff), Cristiano Giardina (Director of GD Racing), José Luis Alonso (Adrian Campos Motorsport), Michael Zele (Zele Motorsport), Darren Turner, Darren Manning, Marc Haynes, Damien Faulkner, Antonio García, Polo Villaamil, Angel Burgueño, Geoffrey Dellus, Peter Sundberg, Mathias Lauda, Gelete Nieto, Angel Nieto (13-times World Bike Championship),
