The Open Telefonica Series visits the technical Valencian Track

Borja García (Adrián Campos Motorsport) and Santiago Porteiro (Vergani Racing) are the local drivers competing in the Series.

High moments and equality in this International Single-Seater Series. Only 5 points separate the current leader, Frenchman Franck Montagny, and the second driver in the overall standings, Tomas Scheckter.

The Circuito de la Comunidad Valenciana Ricardo Tormo will be the big scenario for the forthcoming meeting of the Open Telefonica Series. The 4th meeting was presented today by the President of the Federación de Automovilismo de la Comunidad de Valencia, Mr. Juan Carlos López, and the Comercial Director of the Circuit, Mr. Julio García.

Also attended the Press Conference the ex-Formula One driver, Adrián Campos, manager of the winner team in the past three years, and his three drivers: Rafael Sarandeses, Mateo Bobbi and the local driver Borja García, former champion of the 1300 Toyota Series.

The executives of the Valencian Circuit are proud to have back the Series, as this is the only venue that the Open Telefonica visits twice. “The Open Telefónica is back and we feel very proud as this is the third year consecutively, and the Series are getting more competitive as well as prestigious. The supporters in Valencia will fill the grandstands again, as they normally do with the Open Telefonica. This Serie is the K to success.”, said Mr. Lopez.

The Comercial Director of the Circuit was brief: “ All sort of lucks for Campos and his team”.

The young valencian team member, Borja García was very excited to race in front of their local supporters: “In the Open Telefónica the level is very high. Really impresive. Valencia will significate my fourth race and I’m really motivated in the team, as this is my home race. I’m happy with the work they do and the many things I’m learning every day.”.

Tomorrow the Open Telefonica Drivers will have two test essions at 10.00 a.m. and 13:30 p.m. (Local time). Schekter (Vergani Racing) still have the record of the Series in this track : (1.26.964) . Data from 1999.
