CR Crews Signs with Dixon Motorsport Promotions For International Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand

DALLAS, Oct. 28 - Dixon Motorsport Promotions has signed 17-year-old CR Crews of Frisco, Texas to run for the 2006 International Trophy in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand.

Crews arrived in New Zealand yesterday for testing.

The international portion of the series comprises rounds three, four, five and six of the series championship. Each of the four-weekend meetings consists of three separate races, making 12 races for the international championship in five weeks. The events will be held at Teretonga Park in Invercargill Jan. 13-15; Timaru International Raceway in Timaru Jan. 20-22; Powerbuilt Tools Raceway in Christchurch Jan. 27-29 and Manfeild Autocourse in Feilding Feb. 17-19.

The single-seater series strives to highlight the talents of drivers and teams. Renowned Italian manufacturer Tatus manufactures the chassis. The power plant utilized is the 200-horsepower Toyota 2ZZ-GE. All competitors receive identical leased motors and there are numerous controlling restrictions in place by the series to provide a level playing field.

Dixon Motorsport Promotions has been running formula-based series in New Zealand, Australia and the United States for over 12 years. Headed by Ron Dixon, the team has successfully campaigned a number of world-class drivers, including Ron's son, Scott Dixon (2003 IndyCar champion) and most recently Wade Cunningham, the newly crowned 2005 Menards Infiniti Pro series champion.

Crews is looking forward to this opportunity to represent the United States and be involved with Toyota Racing, Ron and Scott Dixon, and to race against New Zealand's finest young drivers.

More information may be found on the Internet at toyotaracing.co.nz. CR Crews' Web site is at crcrews.com.
