Malaysia's Formula aspirant Alex Yoong back from Japan's Formula Nippon break plunged straight into a hectic schedule over the 2 weeks preceding the second Malaysia Grand Prix to be held in the Sepang International Circuit on the 22nd Oct 2000.

Lined up for Alex are the appearance to give a luncheon talk to visiting foreign CEOs just before the Sunday's final round Formula race, followed by guest appearance for TAG Heuer and Foster's at the prestigious Paddock Club. At some point of the race proper, Alex will also assist Malaysia's TV3 in host-broadcasting commentary.

Earlier, Alex had launched Brylcreem's new grooming gel at the KL Plaza and MCITIES Club as well as driving a TVR in stunt driving demonstrations at the Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square)'s launch of the Motor Sport Month launched by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.

As the region's Brylcreem Boy, Alex also shot a new Brylcreem grooming gel TV commercial last week which will be on air in a couple of weeks.

Yesterday, Alex turned up as Shell's guest at the Sepang International Kart Circuit when Shell Malaysia hosted world champion Michael Schumacher and Ferrari team mate Rubens Barricello.

"All in all, it has been an exciting two weeks for me so far and the Grand Prix has not even started yet !" said Alex, barely able to catch his breadth amidst daily gym work at the National Sports Institute.

"The atmosphere in the Kuala Lumpur city is already throbbing with tens of thousands of visitors to our Grand Prix. It's going to be a huge party in the city and at the circuit, it's unbelievable !" added Alex.

Pressed for a forecast of the Malaysian Grand Prix results, Alex predicted that "The TAG Heuer McLaren duo of Hakkinen and Coulthard should do well and perhaps even a one-two. Why ? I think the Ferrari's good run over the last 3 races may have been long enough and they only need a few points to wrap up the championship."

After the Grand Prix, Alex has one more programme to speak to students of a Kuala Lumpur school on "be in control" before returning to Japan for the final round of the 2000 Formula Nippon Championship where he aims to close the season with a points finish top six result.
