With the fourth place win on the Tuscan race track in Mugello, Giacomo Piccini still holds the fourth place in the general classification and shortens the distance between himself and the leader Fausto Ippoliti. After a difficult start on Friday due to some technical inconveniences, Giacomo was able to optimize the set up of the car on Saturday and improved his qualifying times. In fact, he conquered the fifth place on the starting grid. During the race, Giacomo started off well, overtook Galeffi and stayed in fourth place till the end of the race.

"I would lie if I say that I'm satisfied. The fourth place may seem like a good result but I wanted to be on the podium for this race. The free practice session on Friday started off badly: we had problems with the set up and encountered some other technical inconveniences that prevented us to take advantage of the session. Things were better on Saturday and I was able to constantly lower my time. So much so that, I lowered my time by almost two seconds in between the morning and afternoon session. Unfortunately during my fastest lap, I found some traffic on the track and thus lost my chance to be in fourth place on the grid. The warm up was o.k. I had set the best third time and found the right balance with the car. Unfortunately, things changed during the race: the track started to get rubbered in fast and the temperature started to rise. The morning set up didn't work well for the most part of the race. I took all the risks at the start, I overtook Galeffi and I inherited and upheld the fourth place. Thanks to this result, I preserve my fourth place in the classification but this doesn't make me happy. The lack of tests between races doesn't me allow me to limit the decimals that I need to finally conquer my first victory in Formula 3.
